My cousin, Bri, is a beautiful woman – both inside and out. Every few years, my son and I have the honor of being invited to extended-family holidays, and we gladly join the festivities. Several years ago, during a round of one of my aunt's fun games, my cousin looking at me and said,
"Ha ha... How does your brain work??"
We all laughed, and she has no idea that that particular question has remained one of my favorite questions, ever. It made me realize that – when given the right circumstances – my creativity can be off the charts. I wish I could remember the lead-up to that question, but I was so enamored of it that everything fell away after she asked me that.
But she knows the answer. She does. Because she's a smart girl:
It's a little bit of IQ gifted to me by my dad and mom. A healthy splash of creativity. An ironic pinch of trauma. And a little bit of love.
I adore you, Bri. You're one of my favorite people. ♥️
