Software & Apps I've Used

Adrienne Brand knows InDesign
InDesign

Ranked in the Top 5% of InDesign users via LinkedIn, 2021.
Indesign is an amazing layout design tool with limitless capabilities for all your graphic design needs. I've been using InDesign since before it was called InDesign... it was PageMaker.

Photoshop-logo-1536x864_edited.png
Photoshop

I've been using Photoshop since before Adobe announced the inclusion of the clone tool. In one of the first versions, I removed part of a singer from in front of a piano and reconstructed the background. It's been so long, I've been working with Photoshop since before applying shadows was a one-step click.

Illustrator-Logo-1024x640.png

Illustrator

I've been using Illustrator since 1992, when professors were still teaching students how to hold the mouse, point and click. I was using Illustrator when folks still cared about trapping and the CMYK color values of black and how they affect your design based on the color paper you're using.

Canva

Canva has made incredible improvements over the years, and while many professional designers are forced to use it, I've embraced the quick layout and animation options that satisfy clients' needs. Being educated in various software & apps allows me to not only use those platforms, but to teach it to others.

clickup.png
ClickUp

Out of all the project management software I've used, ClickUp has been the most effective. I've worked with ActiveCollab, Adobe Workfront, Basecamp, Trello, notebooks and steno pads, and ClickUp has reflected the needs of my project management system the most. And I complete "a volume of work," as per my senior director.

Outlook-Logo-1536x864_flat_edited.png

Microsoft Outlook

Outlook has always been the email software that I return to, no matter on a Mac or PC. I've used every conceivable form of email from Mac Mail, Gmail, Yahoo... and I always, always reinstall and reconfigure my accounts on outlook. The options to organize are outstanding.

MicrosoftTeams
Microsoft Teams

Back in the early '90s, companies allowed their employees to communicate via AOL Instant Messenger. It was the first form of instant messaging other than email, and helped production. Nowadays, Teams has updated the experience to be a cross between instant messaging and forums.

OneDrive

I've used DropBox, Google Drive and others, but OneDrive seems to be the most comprehensive Cloud Storage service, and – obviously – integrates well with other Microsoft products.

CreativeCloud.jpg

Adobe Creative Cloud

The transition from DVDs to cloud-based software was frustrating for many users, but the advent of subscriptions and cloud servers seems to have saved the day. Adobe did a respectable job moving everything to the cloud, which I am appreciating immensely!

Chrome.png
Google Chrome

So unbelievably underestimated, Google Chrome is a backbone of cloud organization. And when it comes to social media, Google can be the vein that carries your online organization to the next level. If you didn't know this and don't use Chrome to the full extent, you're missing out.

sharepoint.png
SharePoint

In the last years, the collaboration between Windows and iOS has been outstanding. When using SharePoint and Chrome, there's almost no reason why you would need another online depository for files and file sharing.

Excel

I've used Excel for everything: Calculating time sheets, tracking expenses, tracking new members, content calendars, usernames and passwords, organizational codes, publication contact information, vendor lists, awards and achievements... and even a Lionel Trains gift list for Dad!
